No Other Story

By: Cuthbert Soup

As suggested by the title, this is the third and final book in the series.  The Cheeseman family has been heroically trying to use the LVR, a time machine, invented by Mr. Cheeseman, to go back in time and rescue their mother before she is poisoned and dies.  In this book, the three children and their father get stuck in "sometimes" - a world that changes location and time right before their eyes.  They see civil war soldiers, dinosaurs, the Grand Canyon, and a blizzard within just a few hours.  Then, the Cheesemans meet a relative from the future who may have the technology to help them leave "sometimes", rescue their mother, and save their family.

Mrs. Senechal says:
Picking up the tale told in the first two books, this story continues the funny adventures of the Cheeseman family.  I love how the author includes characters from the past, present, and future.  There were also great twists and turns in the plot that I hadn't expected.  The best part about this book is that the author retells how he became part of the Cheeseman's story!  The worst part is that this is the last book in this series.

Another Whole Nother Story

By: Dr. Cuthbert Soup

The Cheeseman family is back!  At the end of A Whole Nother Story, they cracked the code to the LVR (a time machine) and have traveled back to 1668.  Their main goal was to help Captain Jibby and his crew return the White Gold Chalice and therefore end the family's curse.  However, damage to the LVR changes their plans and requires many additional adventures!  The Cheeseman family and their friends will need to survive witch-hunters, pirates, and more if they want to return home.

Mrs. Senechal says:
When I finished A Whole Nother Story and found out that was not the end of the story, I couldn't wait for this sequel!  So many of my students wanted to borrow the book that I was just now able to finish it.  This book absolutely lives up to the great reputation of the first.  My favorite characters are back and better then ever, and a whole host of lively new characters have been added.  As with the first book, I love the author's witty words - I actually find myself laughing out loud!

A Whole Nother Story

By: Dr. Cuthbert Soup

A most interesting collection of characters is found in this book including a hairless dog, secret agents, an inventor, a cowboy poet, and three fairly normal children. The unfortunate part for the children is that they and their inventor father must continually move around, changing their names, and trying to escape from all who want to steal their father's valuable invention. The children would like to live a more normal life and make friends, but if they stand any chance of getting their mother back, they must help their father protect his invention until he can crack the secret code.

Mrs. Senechal says:
I chose to read this book based on the funny things listed on the back cover, and I am glad I did! I laughed out loud all through the book. My favorite character is the youngest brother who constantly wears a sock puppet named Steve on his hand. Steve has some of the funniest lines in the book! Besides being funny, the book has good action. The only part of the book that disappointed me was that the end of the book is definitely not the end of the story! Now, I'll have to wait for the sequel...
